Good morning everyone!
I'd like to talk about an usual problem at class, mixing letters. When they are learning the alphabet, they use to mix up certain letters by pars:
p and q
g and q
l and I
b and d
This is completely normal. As they get experience, they recognize differences in these pairs. But it's important to fix those differences in order not to get further problems such as dyslexia or another linguistic problem in learning.
This problem also happened at my class and I was in trouble, I didn't know what to do, so I asked the teacher for help.
He showed me and to the children a very useful and simple tip to not mix b and d, the most common mix pair. This is a picture of how he explained the difference between b and d with the word bed and using his hands.
There are many other problems that can be easily solved with a bit of creativity, we just need to think about it!
Hope you find it interesting.
Antonio.
