Good afternoon!
Today I'm going to explain you some of the things I found interesting during my teacher training this year in a British School.
· Weekly Assembly. I've seen that every Friday we have an assembly in the pavilion, all classes go. Each class will have to represent to all the others one story, song or something they've been working all week long.
· Star of the week. During the Assembly, there's a pupil from each class that is qualified as "The Star of the week", according to teacher's valuation.
· Assistant Teacher. There are two classes with their tutor for each grade. Also there's an assistant teacher for each grade, who is always helping on of those two classes. This is one of the things I like most, pupils are more helped in order to special needs or special activities.
· Sticker Chart. There's a sticker chart in class for each children. They are given a sticker for every good act they practise at class. Every week the teacher reviews the sticker chart and they will be given a special certificate if they got 20 or more stickers.
· Mistakes. The teacher doesn't pay special attention at mistakes, only says good things about the students and he tries to make everyone special, always participating.
· Weekly Library Book. Everyone has their own book from the library. They change it every week, on Thursdays. When they reach the best level at that book stage, they promote to the next, always looking for their best at reading.
I'll keep watching and taking interesting things out for my future work as a teacher.
Hope you find something interesting.
Antonio.
