21st Century Teachers

Welcome everyone!

To introduce you into this site I would like to talk about what I am supposed to be. Of course I'm studying to be a teacher, but being a teacher is more than just teaching some knowledge to the students.

I am supposed to be a role model for my children, I need to care about them and try to do the best for them. They will need my attention and all my skills in order to get a meaningful learning but, what skills do I need?

I show you here the 10 most important skills every Modern Teacher will need:

1. Commitment. Teacher's function is not easy, we got the key to change the world. The future is in the mind of our children and we must get the best from them.

2. Preparation. This is the key to success, without preparation we can't do anything. Is very important to study the aspects you are going to work at but also practise them in a good and long teacher training with experts.

3. Organization. Many different activities are able to take part in a class if the teacher chooses the right way. Teachers have lots of things to do and organization for them is completely necessary.

4. Tolerance. Even that we are alone in a class with our children, teacher's work is always in groups, co-working with the other teachers and maybe you will need to use some of the ideas that you don't care about or you may think that they are not useful. If we are tolerant, our children will be tolerant and this is a important value in a multicultural world as 21st century is.

5. Story Telling. Children love stories, if you tell them something related to your experience or any other interesting or funny thing, they will listen to you. Once you get their attention, you can guide them trough learning.

6. Open for Questions. A teacher is exposed to pupils' curiosity. We must always try to answer their questions and engage them to explore and answer their own questions.

7. Innovative. World is changing continuously and teachers must get adapted to those changes. Learning will be always the most important labour but methods will be changing, we must find the right technique in the right moment to the right child.

8. Technology Enthusiast. Teachers must use technologies trough learning, pupils will love to use them as much as we like to. Technology leads the world, let's put education within.

9. Social. Humans are social animals, we are always in contact one to another. Education must go along with socialization, promoting co-working, working in pairs, groups and helping each other.

10. Geek. Teachers will need to be completely experts about any interesting actuality topic, game, activity or any other actual thing that can get children attention.

These are some of 10 most important skills needed in 21st century teachers. So mates, you know what you will need to be a good teacher!
